EJ:  What is fashion club and what do you hope to do in the club?

DR: My Co-President Juliana Kaminski and I are so excited to get this up and running! We have a lot of big plans we would like to carry through, such as partnering with Feminist Club to do a charitable Fashion Show, setting up a portion of the school store to advertise our products, attending a fashion show in NYC, and showing off our individuality and talents.

EJ: What kind of student should join/would enjoy fashion club?

DR: I realize that the word "fashion" has been stereotyped and the context has been misconstrued, but I feel as though more people would enjoy what we're doing more than they think. Students who like to express themselves, design, draw, simply love fashion, are interested in the industry, or even those who are not completely sure if they would like the club should consider joining.

EJ: Why did you want to start a fashion club?

DR: I have to give almost all of the credit to Juliana. She's been amazing getting this to pass through the BOE all by herself. I just had the idea of starting the club without realizing she already basically did! I just hopped on this project to help start it up. I was surprised when I realized how many schools have a fashion club, and we should have one to represent people who find fashion as a passion for them!

EJ: I know you're interested in the fashion industry, so what do you hope to accomplish in fashion one day?

DR: I, personally, have always loved the idea of making somebody feel confident and awesome with what they wear because people don't realize what a difference it makes on self image. I really hope to start my own line of dresses, specifically ball gowns and formal wear. The creativity and artistic ability out there are amazing and I aspire to have the underrated talents of famous and upcoming designers.

EJ: Do you have any fashion role models who led you to your love of fashion and inspire your style?

DR: I grew up around my cousins who definitely didn't inspire my love for fashion. Growing up I was a total tomboy until around 8th grade. Vogue magazine, which probably sounds completely cliché, actually got me interested in the industry and the different style options out there.

EJ: How would you describe your personal style?
DR: I have such a wide range of looks. I've been told I have an edgy, rocker look, which I agree with to some extent. I'm not really sure how to describe the way I look because I'm all over the place. All I know is that during school, effort and being presentable isn't exactly my first priority!

EJ: What is your favorite clothing item you own?
DR: My favorite item by far is my cozy socks, with a grey sweater dress with black leather pockets coming in a close second.

EJ: Is there anything you feel everyone should have in their closet?
DR: Everyone needs a pair of leggings honestly. I know they get a lot of negative comments, but they really do go with everything. Especially on a day you don't feel that great, but still want to dress up, you can accessorize them.

EJ: What trend do you love right now?
DR: I am really a fan of the overalls making a comeback, actually. People style them so creatively, they have actually made it onto my good side.

EJ: Where is your favorite city for fashion?

DR: I haven't travelled too much, but I have a never ending love for NYC. It's such a fashion hub as it is, and everyone is so expressive and dares to stand out.

EJ: Who is your favorite fashion designer and why?
DR: I love Elie Saab, who is a designer of gowns and dresses. Every one of his dresses are breathtaking.
