Out of the many events of the fall season here at Sparta High School, the homecoming dance is one of the most important and fun in the eyes of SHS students. The homecoming dance is a great time for students, young and old, to get together and have fun.
Sean Schoch, the president of Student Council, answered some questions regarding this year’s Homecoming:
“Homecoming is one of the biggest events that the Student Council puts on each year, and this year is no different. We are continuing many of the same traditions from years past, such as the selection of a Homecoming Queen and King, and we will be trying out several new twists. I encourage all students to attend this dance, as it is one of the highlights of the year.”
When asked about fundraising, Sean replied, "The homecoming dance is essentially self-sufficient; the money that is spent on tickets to the dance covers all of the expenses for the night"
On the topic of preparation, Sean told us that, “The Student Council has made arrangements for a professional entertainment company to cover the dance, which will include music, lights, and special effects.”
Of course, many students are getting ready for the big night, with Schoch commenting, “ I am very excited for homecoming. As a Senior, this will be my last homecoming and I can’t wait to see all my friends and peers have a great time together as we celebrate the start to a great school year.” Best of luck to him and all students who will be attending the Homecoming Dance this year.
