4 Book Suggestions for the 4 Day Break

Teacher's convetion is quickly approaching and if you are anything like me, you are looking for a good book to delve into for those few days off. One of these four books, each less than 400 pages long, is sure to grab your attention, so you'll surely be able to finish in four days. Put on a sweater, pour a cup of apple cider, and try one of these!

1. Station Eleven, by Emily St. John Mandel

On a cold and snowy night in Toronto, famous actor

Arthur Leander drops dead of a heart attack while

performing in a production of King Lear. Kirsten

Raymonde watches from behind the curtains as Jeevan

Chaudhary performs CPR, trying and failing to bring

Arthur back to life. That same night, a terrible flu

begins to spread, engulfing the city, and eventually the

continent, in sickness and death. Fifteen years later, in

2. Me Before You, by Jojo Moyes

Louisa Clark is an ordinary young woman living an

the way it is, is not worth living. Even though he is moody

and bossy, Louisa sets out to help him find happiness

again, and show him that life is worth living. This story

is both heartbreaking and romantic, written with grace

and heart.

3. The Girl on the Train, by Paula Hawkins

Rachel takes the commuter train each day, and as the

train passes through the suburban town on its route, she

watches the same couple breakfasting on their deck.

and goes to the police to share what she witnessed. But

when she gets wrapped up in the mystery that follows,

she begins to wonder: has she done more harm than

good? Hawkin’s debut novel is a psychological thriller

that will keep you compulsively reading.

4. Paper Towns, by John Green

Quentin Jacobsen has spent years loving his adventurous

next day, Q arrives at school to discover that Margo has

trip to find her, only to discover that the closer he gets,

the less he sees the girl he thought he knew. Recently

turned into movie, this humorous novel will surely

resonate with its young adult audience.
