Taking the Place of a Rival

With new legislations making public schools play public schools and private schools play private schools, this marks the last year that Sparta High School will ever play against its biggest rival, Pope John High School. Now, with Pope John gone, there is one question that has the school pondering: who is going to be Sparta's new rival?

Most believe it is still up for debate. Mr. Merrill replied in a rapid interview, "The divisions keep going up and down, so it would be very hard to say."

Billy Lowen would agree, coming back to the fact that, "No one will take the place of Sparta vs. Pope John."

There has been talk of Vernon becoming the next big rival, but after Sparta's staggering victory by 42 points, it seems unlikely. It will take months, possibly years for another rivalry to form, seeing how the Pope John rivalry is several years old. Only then will there be a new challenger who believes that they can take down Spartan strength.
