Want to be more active in community service projects? Feel like you’re not doing enough for the school and others around you? Check out these top five clubs that are dedicated to giving back at SHS and join today!
1. Pass It Along Club
What is it: The Pass It Along organization holds various opportunities for students at SHS to participate in a variety of volunteer events such as making pillowcases for cancer patients, attending Youth Conferences, and participating in Tilly’s Kids.
Upcoming Projects:
A huge service project is currently being designed
Coat drive with encouraging notes placed inside each pocket

2. Find the Courage
What it is: Find the Courage is a club exclusively for juniors and seniors. The club focuses on bullying and harassment prevention and organizes events to advocate for what can be considered “invisible” abuse.
Recent Projects:
Attended a center for prevention and counseling anti-bullying summit on October 21st
Planning another summit at Alpine Elementary School

3. Key Club
What it is: Key Club is a worldwide organization dedicated towards organizing and attending various community service events. The group is highly recognized and honored among colleges and offers various scholarships as a junior and senior.

4. Water Aid
What it is: Water Aid is a non-profit club that raises money to supply fresh water, proper sanitation, and adequate hygiene to countries in need across the world. The newly established club holds fundraisers in and outside of school to promote the cause, as well as to collect donations.

5. PDP
What it is: PDP is a peer development youth group that mentors incoming freshmen and underclassmen. Members must obtain a teacher nomination and be an upperclassman to join.
Recent Projects:
PDP members met with their assigned freshman group to talk about their first few months of high school
